WORKSHOP: Storytelling and Presentation Skills
‘Let thy speech be better than silence or be silent’ - Dionysius Of Halicarnassus
Stories are persuasive, memorable and engaging. By using story skills in your presentation, you’ll be more able to connect deeply with your audience, building their trust and boosting your credibility.
Danyah will share four key components she’s learnt as a performer and trainer to ensure impactful and powerful delivery of your message. Participants will have the opportunity to play story games to practice skills and increase confidence. There will be time for a Q&A at the end of the session.
* Danyah is based in England, available for in-person and virtually
Why Storytelling?
Our lives are stories. These, and the stories around us, form a powerful sense of who we are and who we will become. We tell stories everyday, as we interact with our families, friends and colleagues. Storytelling is a large part of what makes us human.
Sometimes we confuse activity with accomplishment. Nowadays we live our lives at such a fast pace that we need permission to take a break. Storytelling gives us that opportunity. Stories give peace to our minds and feed our souls, so that we can meet the world renewed and with new vitality.
Imagination is like a muscle, it needs exercise, just as our legs and arms do. In a world of passive media, stories and storytelling activities play an important role in strengthening imagination.
