Support The Farewell
Created by 2X Grammy winner - Tamika Lawrence
THE FAREWELL is a new theatrical, cinematic rock show created and performed by Tamika Lawrence.
This is a pivotal moment in Tamika’s journey as an independent artist. The work brings together her original music, live performance, and film into something bold, brave, and deeply personal.
This stage is where new work is most vulnerable. It is also where support matters most.
This summer, THE FAREWELL has secured a slot at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, one of the most important global platforms for new work.
When resources are limited, it is easy to cut corners. Every contribution allows us to compensate collaborators, make creative updates, and build the piece in a way that can last beyond this first step.
Because this is an independent production, we’re inviting a small group of early supporters to help bring the work to Edinburgh and support its continued development.
This is a gift to the work and a way to stand behind it at an early moment.
About The Farewell
Journey into the mind of two-time Grammy Award-winner Tamika Lawrence in The Farewell - an unforgettable psycho-thriller event unlike anything you’ve experienced before.
Join creator and performer Tamika as she confronts her existential horrors through the lens of a surrealist, multimedia adventure. With twelve Broadway shows to her name, the artist blends music, performance art, and cinema into this unsettling and darkly playful world, inspired by the likes of John Waters, Wes Anderson, Spike Lee, and more.
Featuring original music and a live band, The Farewell is a campy, thrilling, and mind-altering performance you won’t soon forget.

About Tamika

Tamika Lawrence is a two-time Grammy Award–winning singer, writer, and actor whose voice has become one of the most distinctive forces in contemporary musical theater and live performance.
She has earned four Grammy nominations and two wins for her work on the Dear Evan Hansen and The Greatest Showman soundtracks. On stage, she has appeared in 13 Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, including Come From Away, Dear Evan Hansen, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Caroline, or Change, If/Then, Matilda, The Book of Mormon, and Gettin’ the Band Back Together. She received Drama Desk and Lortel nominations for her performance in Black No More, written by Black Thought and John Ridley.
Known for her soaring, soul-piercing vocals and razor-sharp comedic and dramatic instincts, Tamika moves seamlessly between rock concert, Broadway stage, and intimate cabaret.
Her independently released albums UGLY (2017) and Two Faced (2020) earned critical acclaim for their raw honesty and genre-defying sound.
Press
"Tamika Lawrence is a major talent who can sing the rafters off any house she's in but can also shake a room with sheer personality, as she proved in memorable recent turns in Broadway's Caroline, or Change and The Heart of Rock and Roll. In this rock-oriented solo show at Joe's Pub, she performs original songs from her past albums and her upcoming mixtape, Barely In The Calm House Vol. 1., interspersed with short films she has created in the off-kilter retro-indie mode of John Waters and Doris Wishman.
